Germany's National Sustainable Development Strategy

On 9. January Mr Olaf Rieck of the German Embassy in Malta explained the German Sustainable Development Strategy to a group of students at the University of Malta. The strategy is an ambitious roadmap with concrete and measurable targets for an economic, ecological and social transformation until 2030. At the same time Mr Rieck presented the German Almanac of Sustainability which is compiled by the German Council for Sustainable Development. This publications entails numerous examples of sustainable thinking and action. Sustainable Development can only be achieved if it is tackled on a global level. Hence it is important for Germany to engage with its international partners to exchange experiences, best practices and ideas.
