Since 2009 Germany has supported the Mediterranean Academy of Diplomatic Studies (MEDAC) at the University of Malta by sponsoring the Chair for Peace Studies and Conflict Prevention. Holder of the Chair is Dr Monika Wohlfeld, an expert in conflict and security studies. As part of the Ambassadorial lecture series of the Academy, once a year, the German Ambassador to Malta addresses MEDAC students on German foreign policy from a personal perspective and participates in a Q&A session on the subject.
