Opening ceremony attracted more than 100,000 people to Valletta

With a firework display of musical and artistic presentations, Valletta officially opened its doors on 20 January as European Capital of Culture 2018. Approximately 100,000 people strolled through the narrow streets of the capital of malta which does not count more than 6,000 inhabitants. Over 400 individual events and 140 projects will fill the cultural calendar of the islands of Malta and Gozo in the current year. For more details:
